Backups are great but that data quite often is not fully up to date so you can easily lose data and or hours of work between backup points. Further, folks may want to take their data on a Asrock X79 Extreme4-M Intel Management drive and create or 'Migrate' their drive to a redundant array. Older Intel Chipsets - http: F6 or driver added. Asrock X79 Extreme4-M Intel Management Alias's may be lost. For whatever reason ASRock chose to use a little tiny fan for active chipset cooling. Tiny chipset fans seem to have a high failure rate and worse than that, these are noisy. The expansion slot area is OK. Most importantly the PCIe x16 slots are well placed with nothing that upsets me too much. However the placement of the CMOS battery is simply stupid.
The guy that did this is now on that list. This type of bonehead move is inexcusable. Usually in a non-POST type situation. By itself, not a deal breaker. So far ASRock has shown great consistency here as this utility has always worked.
ASRock X79 Extreme4-M (Intel X79) Motherboard Review

Fan speeds are thrown in for good measure. Next is the fan control menu. This simple menu allows you to adjust your target fan speed and target CPU or zone temperature. If you tell it to do something it won't warn you or hesitate no matter what you are doing. You could flash a jpeg image on top of your current BIOS and it would go ahead.
It's Asrock X79 Extreme4-M Intel Management useful but users who use it must be careful. Some wrong command you used told it to flash your current BIOS with another image. When pushing to the extreme, I needed a fan on it to maintain 4. That sucker got HOT in an open air bench!
Also pictured is the power on and reset switches as well as the usually helpful debug LED which glow a bright red color. When it does spin up, its surprisingly quiet in the testing I have completed so far.
